WADI RUM — Elders and eco-camp operators across Jordan's Protected Desert Area have established a self-imposed ceiling on overnight guest accommodations to protect the fragile desert biome.
Under the agreement, tent footprints will not expand into virgin sand dunes, and camps will transition to off-grid solar power systems with zero single-use generator noise after sunset.
