FLÅM — Three historic fjord settlements in western Norway have initiated a pioneering seasonal transport pilot: closing central harbour roads to passenger cars and redirecting all tourist traffic to electric passenger catamarans.
The initiative has freed up narrow village lanes for pedestrians, cyclists, and outdoor dining terraces overlooking the Aurlandsfjord.
